As simple as it may sound to just run fast , it is not . Running fast takes a lot more than just strength in legs . People often neglect other factors like upper body , technique , form , and most importantly , sport specific speed requirements .
There is a lot more in-depth on this very topic in my SPEED PROGRAMME , the first week of which is LIVE and FREE ! Check it out HERE .
Touching on it , I decided to give you a preview of what is a part of WEEK 2 of the programme , i.e , being fast changing direction . We will talk a bit about it first , how it can affect your game , and then give you a simple drill , so you can get working right away .
So let me get this across to you at first , that you need to understand that being fast in FOOTBALL , is a whole lot different than being a SPRINTER .
Of course , being fast while running in a particular direction helps , but it is a very small part of the whole thing .
In this sport , there are a whole lot of changes of directions , and sometimes going in the opposite direction . Here is a simple drill from the WEEK-2 of my Speed Programme which you can follow :
This drill is very effective in development of speed . More about this in WEEK-2 of my SPEED PROGRAMME .
