Hey ! This is the first post here on this section of the feed , and what better way to start off than to talk about something which many players struggle with .

SPEED .

There is in-depth on this very topic with supportive videos and much more in my upcoming SPEED PROGRAMME , the first week of which is going LIVE on my website for FREE on 10.02.18 .

Touching on it , I decided to give you a preview of what is a part of WEEK 2 of the programme , i.e , being fast on the turn and while changing directions . We will talk a bit about it first , how it can affect your game , and then give you a simple drill , so you can get working right away .

Getting quick on the turn is one of the essentials that will make all the difference in situations of counter attacks , loose balls etc. both offensively and defensively .

So let us get into the technique . Watch the video below , and then continue reading .

The above Zig-Zag sprint drill focuses on changing directions on both sides quickly .

The setup is simple , a set of cones laid down in a Zig-Zag pattern . You can go for anywhere between 4-8 cones .

Here , the focus is essentially on getting to the cone quickly , then taking SMALL STEPS and GETTING LOW by BENDING KNEES and keeping your HEAD UP while turning .

This is essential to be quick on the turn . You can go anywhere between 3-5 sets of 3 reps each . Work your way up , but keep do it till you can put a 100% in all repetitions .

Consistency is key !
