OFFICIAL : Batshuayi goes on loan to Dortmund .

Michi Batshuayi has been loaned late in the transfer window as Chelsea look to create room for new striker Olivier Giroud . The belgian joins Borussia Dortmund , who after letting Aubameyang go , are in desperate need of a striker , sign him on a loan deal till the end off the season .

Dortmund's season is already in trouble after dropping to the Europa League . They were struggling even with star striker Aubameyang , and could not afford to play without a certain striker for the 2nd half of the season . Batshuayi is determined to complete his loan spell at the club scoring loads of goals as World Cup is not too far away .

An interesting statistic from 2017 highlights Batshuayi’s effectiveness in front of goal. As a Chelsea player, he scored an average of a goal per 88.5 minutes on the pitch – of all the players in the English Premier League who scored at least 10 goals in 2017, only Tottenham Hotspur’s world-class striker Harry Kane was deadlier, netting a goal per 78.9 minutes on average.

Though he has not had many opportunities to play for Chelsea that often , he has shown his quality whenever given the chance , and Peter Stoger would expect the same of him at his club .
